Sharon Rowley has been part of the fishing industry for almost 40 years.  In fact, Sharon’s mother, Rita Gartrell, was the first lady Sport Boat Captain in Morro Bay from 1979 until a couple of years before her passing in 1998.  Sharon spent some time Commercial Fishing on a Trawler for Fish and Shrimp, but most of the time has been as a Captain at Virg’s catching mostly Rock Cod and Salmon.

Sharon's husband John recently retired from Virg’s after more than 25 years employed as a Captain.  Their son and daughter were also raised in the Fishing Business and daughter Michele works as a Sportfishing and Commercial Captain. Sharon’s favorite part of the job is watching the great pleasure people get when catching their own fish.      

Charlie Lanini started working on fishing boats when he was 13 years old and has had his Captain’s license for 25 years.  He came to Virg’s in 1983 and ran the bait boat, Billy Boy, for 20 years.  He currently runs passengers on the Admiral for Sportfishing, Overnights & Whale Watching trips.  Charlie has a lifetime’s experience of fishing the local waters is known for catching limits of fish and having a great trips.

Brad Leage began Sportfishing at the age of five with his grandpa.  In his teenage years he fished for Rock Cod, Albacore, and Salmon off the Central Coast. He’s had his Captain’s license for 30 years.  He’s been fortunate enough to have a successful career in both Sportfishing and Commercial Fishing and at one point upgraded his license to a 500-ton master license. Brad returned to Sportfishing at Virg’s in 2008 where he is Captain of the Princess. He and his crew have a strong reputation for catching limits of Rock Cod for his passengers and providing great customer service.
